13th March 2026 Newsletter

The forecast for tonight shows it getting cold and there is possibilty of ice. As it is set to warm up quickly we will be going ahead with club rides tomorrow. Before heading out please assess the conditions for your ride to the Hub and if it looks icy it's safer to give it a miss.

AGM

It was great to see so many of you at the AGM last week. Thanks to everyone who came along and joined in the good discussions that took place. Minutes of the meeting are attached.

Cycle Trips Slides Evening

Thanks to Jeremy for organising a great evening at the Oxted British Legion where 6 people gave short presentations on foreign cycling trips they did last year. Hopefully it provided inspiration for the 28 people who attended to do something similar this year.

Ride Reports

Louise's T1.5 - Paul L-S, Sian and I were the only 3 to brave a slightly damp start for our ride to Knole Park. We set off along pilgrims way, were overtaken by T3s but did our best to hang on to their tails for a short way - great fun!
Down through Chipstead then Sian took us on a new route, rather than the usual back lane way. Even Paul hadn’t done it before, ended up in Sevenoaks and entered the park via the main entrance. Good coffee and cake in Knole cafe, then back home via Baileys, Bough Beech and Marlpit Hill in the sunshine. 56km and 754m climbing.
Thanks to Sian and Paul for a lovely ride. Louise

Norman's Midweeker 4th March - our midweek group of Casey, Suzanne, Andy, Mark, Jo, Peter, Steve and I set of from The Hub this morning in foggy and cool weather on our way to Redhill aerodrome via Tandridge, Horne and Smallfields. Not the best of cake selections but nice coffee and chatting inside the cafe waiting for the sun to take us back home. So as we emerged from the cafe our wishes were answered and sunshine made a pleasant ride back through Outward and Tilburstow. Approx 30 miles. Norman
