3rd April Newsletter
Looks like we have mixed weather for the Easter weekend. We’ve got a lot of rides on Spond so there should be something for everyone.
New Tandem First Ride
On 11th April Amanda and Alan will be out on the new tandem which was bought in memory of Nick Emmins. Alan will be providing more details nearer the time, I’m excited to see it!
Ride Reports
Norman’s Saturday T1 - It felt that the wind chill factor seemed higher today than during the winter months. But that did not deter 8 of us-Andy Del Nevo, David Hepburn, Casey ( The Caller), Tony, Andy (well behind or a mile ahead🤩), Gavin, Jo and myself. I lead on the way out via Tandridge Lane, Horne, Smallfield and across to The Archive Cafe at Copthorne. Gavin and I got in first with the only pain au raisins and enjoyed the company. The CEO handed responsibility to Gavin (The Colonel) for a variation of the route back after a photo shoot by the Fiat 500 ex Tony who missed out due to the time he took to adjust his makeup😂. Great time/ lovely chums.
Pete’s Saturday T4 - There were eight of us for Saturday's T4 out to a new cafe near Trottiscliffe. I was joined by Paul, Russell, Frank, Miles, Jules, Stuart and Martin. The weather was kind to us and the route didn't feel too hilly, although we still managed 1000m of climbing over 50 miles. The Gate House cafe proved to be a good find with excellent coffee and cakes, at a very reasonable price. Everyone road well as a group with an average speed of around 15mph
Have a great weekend,
Richard
